Munich, Day 2
Ruchi and I started early today, beginning with a walk from our hostel to MarienPlatz to catch a bike tour.
The bike tour, run by a company called “Mike’s Bike Tour” was quite the highlight of the day. The tour guide Andy took us all around central Munchen (German name for Munich) and having someone explain all those historic sights was definitely worth the money spent.
Lunch was at the Beer Garden, situated within the English Gardens in the city. The English Gardens are said to be way bigger than Central Park in New York, with a large water canal running through them coming from the river Isar.
Evening continued looking at the Glockenspiel and the popular ceremony depicting the Bavarian king winning the battle each time!
We then ventured to the famous HofbrÀuhaus for beer. The place was established in 1589 and has quite a character with live musicians, traditionally dressed waitresses and lockers where their regular customers store their personal Beer mugs to use during visits.
We’re heading to Switzerland tomorrow, so signing off for today.

did you see the stories being enacted and the bells chime? must be very interesting
